| | | This summer, Europeana Transcribe is launching a special transcription initiative dedicated to the theme of Science, running from 15 June to 30 September 2026. Over the course of the campaign, participants will have the opportunity to explore and work with a wide range of historical scientific manuscripts, letters, research documents, and images from Europeana's collections. | | | | The featured materials include correspondence and works by scientists such as Alexander von Humboldt, Carl Friedrich Kielmeyer, Heinrich Wilhelm Dove, Marian Smoluchowski, Heinrich Schwabe, and Jan Kanty Steczkowski. Available in German, Italian, Polish, English, and other languages, these sources can be transcribed, enriched, and described by volunteers. By contributing to their transcription and enrichment, volunteers help preserve valuable historical records and honour the individuals whose ideas advanced scientific progress.
